Starting psychiatric care is a courageous step toward healing, and we want you to feel informed, empowered, and comfortable every step of the way.
As the founder and provider at Sage Psychiatric Care, I bring over 25 years of experience into every session. I wear many hats in my role—nurse practitioner, therapist, social worker, psychiatrist, scientist, and yes, a mom too. That last one reminds me daily that we’re all human, navigating this world the best we can.
A Whole-Person Approach
At your first visit, you’ll notice that our time together is not just about diagnosing a condition or prescribing a medication. I strive to understand you—your story, your values, your challenges, and your goals. I treat each person with deep care and concern, not just as a diagnosis or symptom, but as a whole individual with a unique life experience.
We’ll talk about what brought you in, and I’ll ask thoughtful questions to get a clear picture of your mental health history, current concerns, and daily life. This includes:
This is a collaborative visit where we exchange information—I’m here to listen and learn from you just as much as I am to offer guidance and solutions.
Compassion Meets Expertise
Because of my diverse background, I bring a blend of medical expertise, therapeutic insight, and real-world understanding to your care. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. Whether it’s traditional medication management, exploring lifestyle modifications, or integrating complementary therapies, I tailor treatment to your unique needs and preferences.
As a native San Antonian, I also take pride in connecting you with both local and national resources that can support your healing journey. From specialized therapists to community programs and educational tools, I use every means available to give you the most comprehensive care possible.
What to Bring
To make the most of your first appointment, it helps to bring:
Most importantly, bring an open heart. Healing starts with trust, and your willingness to share is the foundation of our work together.
Moving Forward
After our first visit, we’ll decide together on a treatment plan. It may include follow-up appointments, lab work, therapy referrals, or medication. The pace and depth of your care will be based on your comfort level. And whether you’re seeing me virtually or in person at our welcoming location in the 15RX Pharmacy Building, you can always expect compassionate, evidence-based care.
You are not alone in your journey—and your story matters. I look forward to learning more about you and walking alongside you on your path to healing.
Warmly,
Christina Wei, PhD, APRN, PMHNP-BC
